5:00 PM - 6:30 PM ONLINE / PARKES Organised by the National Archives of Australia and presented by the Australian Society of Archivists, A Life in Archives: Honouring the Legacy of Dr Peter Orlovich recognises the outstanding career and contributions of Dr Peter Orlovich, a pioneering figure in Australian archival education and practice. Dr Orlovich established Australia’s first graduate training course for archivists at the University of New South Wales and made significant contributions to archival training, community archives, and local history throughout his career.

8:45 AM - 2:45 PM Kingswood The NSW Branch and NSW School Archives SIG are pleased to present a joint professional development day hosted by Museums of History NSW at the Western Sydney Records Centre, Kingswood. This special event will provide attendees with the opportunity to explore one of New South Wales’ major archival storage and access facilities through a guided tour of the Western Sydney Records Centre. The program will also include presentations and discussions focused on archival practice, professional collaboration, and school records within the State Archives Collection.

Share your experiences of and ideas for Archival Futures

The conference brings together everyone who engages with archives: archivists, recordkeepers, information professionals, students, academics, researchers, artists, and community members. Together, we will explore what the future of archives looks like and how we collectively shape it.

Contributions are welcome across themes of community, engagement, and technology, and the ways these intersect. Perspectives from outside the traditional archivist's role are warmly encouraged.

Submission are open until 11:56 PM on Sunday 19 July 2026 (AEST) through our online portal.
