Sharman Award - Conference Bursary

In 2000 the Society introduced this annual award in honour of Robert Charles (Bob) Sharman, colleague, foundation member and long serving supporter of the Society, in recognition of his significant contribution to the Australian Society of Archivists and the archival cause generally in Australia.

Loris Williams Memorial Scholarship - Indigenous students

Scholarships are offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who wish to train for careers in archives and records management at a University or TAFE. The scholarship was first offered in 2008.

Mander Jones Awards - Publications

In 1996 the Society introduced this award for publications in the field of archives and recordkeeping. This award honours Phyllis Mander Jones who, amongst other contributions to the profession, authored Manuscripts in the British Isles relating to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, in 1972.

Margaret Jennings Award - Archive Students

This annual award was instituted in 1989 as the Australian Society of Archivists Inc Award for students completing a diploma course in archives administration in the previous year.

Archives and Manuscripts Award - Emerging Writers

The Archives and Manuscripts Emerging Writers Award recognises the work of emerging writers who have published an article in the journal. Each year the members of the Archives and Manuscripts editorial board decide the winner of this award, which features a $1000 cash payment.
