The Branch holds general meetings every two to three months, with
Branch Committee meetings held monthly. The General Meetings provide
information and a forum for exchange of ideas, usually based around a
guest speaker. Meetings are held at various locations and institutions,
depending on the focus or purpose of the meeting. Meetings generally
follow the pattern of informal discussion over drinks, followed by the
formal meeting component, with an optional dinner afterwards. The
Branch also conducts workshops from time to time to meet perceived
needs, such as information for those managing Local History collections
and small archives. The Branch newsletter, Western Archives. is sent to
branch members 6 times per year. This provides information about branch
activities and items of local interest.
