For those who missed out on booking for Digital Futures and breakfast with Natalie Ceeney, there is an alternative event on Tuesday 18th September. The speaker is Mal Booth, who is in charge of AWM Research Centre and coordinator of the forthcoming exhibition - "Lawrence of Arabia and the Light Horse".
He will talk about the challenges involved in curating the exhibition including the process surrounding international loans from several different institutions and private collections, and he will highlight his desire to use archival records - not just objects, photos and art works - to bing out the story. Along the way he promises some amusing and interesting curatorial tales that won't make it into any captions or wall text. He also hopes to bring along some stuff for us to see. In the meantime, you can get a taste of the exhibition progress so far by going to the blog: http://blog.awm.gov.au/lawrence/ .
