Most Pacific Island nations have laws that at least touch on the issue of recordkeeping, yet recordkeeping in Pacific Island governments is almost universally poor. The PARBICA Recordkeeping for Good Governance Toolkit aims to provide products that will help archivists in the Pacific to improve recordkeeping within government. This paper will describe the Toolkit and its development and will discuss some of the legislative and other issues that are influencing its progress.
