Committee on Descriptive Standards
MISSION STATEMENT
To move the Australian archival community towards the use of standardised descriptive practices by playing a leading role in developing and promoting suitable national and international standards.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
- Advise the ASA on matters relating to descriptive standards.
- Undertake tasks relating to descriptive standards referred to it by the ASA.
- Play a leading role in developing and maintaining suitable national and international descriptive standards.
- Promote knowledge, understanding and use of suitable national and international descriptive standards within the Australian recordkeeping community.
- Communicate information on the activities of the Committee to the Australian recordkeeping community via the Internet, the ASA Bulletin, and reports to ASA Council.
