INVITATION
Hobart
is located on a magnificent deep-water port and set against a breathtakingly
spectacular mountain backdrop. You can experience Australia’s second
oldest city when you register for Convergence 2001. The first joint
conference of the Australian Society of Archivists and the Records
Management
Association of Australia provides an opportunity for members working
in all areas of both professions to meet, share ideas and experiences,
and discuss issues of joint interest. Delegates will be able to add
their opinions, compare insights, pool expertise and discover new methods
and services in this period of technological challenge to our traditional
areas of expertise.
The program
provides a balance of theoretical papers, case studies and practical
workshops which cater for the full range of participants’ interests.
Tasmania has a tradition of hospitality revolving around fine food and
wine. The conference venue, the Hotel Grand Chancellor, is located in
the historic waterfront precinct at the heart of the City of Hobart.
We encourage delegates to take this opportunity to experience what Tasmania
has to offer.
Please
Note
There
have been two major changes to the Conference program. Nils Bruebach
had to withdraw as keynote speaker and
has been replaced by Verne Harris. The workshop
on appraisal and disposal has focused on health records and will not
now include case studies on legal records.
