The ABC is currently looking for a suitably qualified Collections Officer (Audio) for a 6 month vacancy. The purpose of this Collections Officer role is to capture and transfer selected ABC audio content to meet the research requirements of clients and to meet the archival obligations of the ABC.
Key Accountabilities:·
- Carry out accurate copying and format transfer of material to specified standards.
- Maintain accurate records in Archives & Libraries databases and systems to specified standards.
- Perform collection management tasks to meet departmental legal requirements and to ensure selected content is captured.
- Perform administrative and maintenance tasks to meet work area requirements.
- Selection criteria:
- Qualifications and/or experience relevant to the role.
- Ability to operate specified audio equipment and relevant software within accepted guidelines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy for required tasks, especially in the capture and transfer of audio content and the recording of metadata into systems.
- Knowledge of relevant media formats with a working knowledge of the relevant and accepted handling guidelines.
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, maintain focus and work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, Corporate Equity and Diversity and OH&S policies and practices.
