The time: 2065. The place: Paris. Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward and Lord Jeremy Hodge visit the French Heraldic Archives and are almost gassed to death as they peruse the dusty volumes stored in the even dustier vault. They are saved in the nick of time by Lady Penelope’s trusty chauffeur, Parker. The question is - where is the missing archivist?
The time: Stardate 5725.3. The place: Somewhere in the Alpha Quadrant. All the cultural and scientific records of the Federation are stored on the planetoid called Memory Alpha. There is no security shielding on Memory Alpha as the rationale is that knowledge is open to all. Non-corporeal life-forms descend upon the planet, killing scholars, scientists and researchers and wiping the memory banks of the vast computer network. Once again, we ask the question - where are the archivists?
Was it the ideas, interactions and initiatives of the missing archivists that led them to their respective destinies? What was their fate? Did anyone actually miss them? Are they in fact missing?
