The Australian Credit Union Archives Trust is located in Surry Hills, 5 mins from Central. Assisted by a small team of volunteers you will work with documents, audio tapes, videos, films, photographs and ephemera relating to the history of the Credit Union movement in Australia.
Tasks
Processing donations, i.e. organising the material sent, appraising it, sending out correspondence and forms to donors
Organising archive material – into categories following established system
Data entry into Access based database (Archive Manager)
Supervising volunteers – assigning tasks and projects
Providing information and material to people enquiring about Credit Unions history
Organising transfer of audio-tapes, videos and films into new media
Producing newsletters
Required Skills
Sound knowledge of archival principles
Good sense of how to organise materials and describe them
Ability to work unsupervised and lead a voluntary support team, delegating appropriate duties
Familiarity with archiving databases
Accurate, with a keen eye for detail
Essential Experience
Min 5 years working in an Archives
Completed or studying towards an Archives related degree/diploma
