The Australian Society of Archivists is committed to advocating on behalf of its members on issues affecting archivists and archives and on matters relating to recordkeeping in Australian society.

The ASA takes leadership on issues of national significance relating to archives, recordkeeping and cultural heritage, where possible collaborating with allied professional associations such as Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA), Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or Museums Australia (MA). The ASA also works with its Branches and Special Interest Groups to advocate on matters specifically impacting on them. Internationally, the ASA works with the International Council of Archives and other relevant bodies to represent the causes of archivists around the world.

If there is an important issue on which you would like to see the ASA advocate, please contact us.
