Having no experience in the archival profession, I became interested because of my family’s cultural work and was given the opportunity of employment within the archives on an operational level becoming the Office Manager of the ASA Office. This has provided me with a close insight on archives as a profession including: contacts, services, ideas, an understanding of the implications of needing correct management of not only indigenous archives but archives as an entity, has on indigenous & non indigenous communities and people. The most treasured role I have is being a mum to 3 robust, challenging & high achieving children, which is closely followed by being known as “Bidjara” the artist. Email Mel here
