2009 Brisbane

The 2009 ASA conference will be held in Brisbane.

 Call for papers: Voyaging together: integrity, memory and sustainability

The Australian Society of Archivists, the Archives and Records
Association of New Zealand and the Pacific Regional Branch of the
International Council on Archives invite proposals for papers and other
contributions to their joint conference to be held in Brisbane from
Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October 2009.

The broad theme of the conference is Voyaging together: integrity,
memory and sustainability. Papers and panels with an Indigenous or
Pacific focus are particularly welcome.

The following list of topic areas for papers is indicative, but not
exhaustive:

   * Cooperation between institutions

   * Pacific collections in Australia and New Zealand

   * Sustainability for small archives

   * Management and preservation of Indigenous collections

   * Freedom of Information: developments and directions

   * Archives and anniversaries

   * New technologies: tools or masters?

   * Non-government archives: history and future

We will be offering a refereed stream for papers from the conference.

Proposals should include the following:

Author name(s) and institutional affiliation (if any)

Email contact for the proposer

Title

Session type: paper, panel discussion, poster session etc.

Abstract: minimum 150 words, maximum 300 words.

Up to six descriptive keywords for the topic

The deadline for submission of proposals is 28 February 2009. Please
